Report of an Unusual Case of Hemosiderotic Fibrohistiocytic Lipomatous Tumor with Systematic Review of Clinicopathological Characteristics and Differential Diagnosis

The spectrum of lipomatous lesions ranges from benign to highly malignant disease. Differentiation between these mesenchymal is important for pathologist as well clinician indicate prognosis and choose the most appropriate treatment. Hemosiderotic firohistiocytic tumor (HFLT) a rare subtype tumor. diagnosis usually based on clinical, histological, immunohistochemical (IHC) information. We reported case 56 years old man with painful mass in dorsal aspect thigh showing an unusal clinical presentation but characteristic histological IHC features. In this article we have retrospectively reviewed 67 cases HFLT literature so far along one at our institution. review focuses clinicopathological histomorphological characteristics related entities. hallmark its complex admixture mature adipose tissue, spindle cells striking deposition hemosiderin pigment. Even though shows marked predeliction distal extremeties especially foot/ ankle female preponderance, they can occur uncommon site such also males seen case.
